 ◦ 편의점 성장 추세

   - 2013년까지는 7-Eleven과 Ministop이 진출하였으며, 2016년부터 Family Mart(Rustan Group), Lawson(Puregold Price Club), Alfamart(SM Retail)가 진출하며 경쟁이 가속화되고 있음

   - 10대 후반부터 20대까지를 타겟으로 하여 고등학교와 대학교 주변을 중심으로 매장 수 확장

   - 필리핀 내 편의점 점포 수는 50,000개를 돌파하여 계속 성장 중이나, 전국에 약 100만 개 이상이 분포할것으로 추산되는 sari-sari store(구멍가게)에 비하여 시장 점유율이 매우 낮음

 ◦ 편의점 성장 요인

   - 소비자들이 편의점에서 식품 구입을 선호하는 이유로는 식당보다 저렴한 가격과 구매 후 바로 시식가능한 공간이 존재하기 때문임

   - 편의점의 판매가격은 평균가보다 5-15% 높으나, 24시 운영함에 따른 편리함과 매장이 냉방되는 점에서 소비자들에게 어필하고 있음

□ 편의점 진출 기업

 ◦ 7-Eleven

    - 필리핀 내 편의점 시장 점유율 1위 기업임

   - 치킨, 오믈렛 등 즉석 가열식품과 매장에서 직원이 빠르게 조리 가능한 식품들을 판매하고 있음

    - 온라인몰에서 주문한 상품의 수령 장소로도 이용됨

 ◦ Ministop

   - 필리핀 내 편의점 시장 점유율 2위 기업으로, 필리핀 전역에 500개 이상의 매장 보유

   - Ready-to-eat meal(바로 먹을 수 있는 인스턴트음식)제품 판매에 치중하며, 매장 내에 전자레인지 등 간단한 조리시설을 구비해놓음

 ◦ Alfamart

   - Alfamart는 편의점과 슈퍼마켓의 장점을 혼합한 minimart 형태임

   - 편의점 규모로 주택지 인근에서 점포 운영을 하고 있으며, 제품 분류와 가격은 대형 슈퍼마켓과 동일한 수준임 

   - 신선 육류 및 가금류, 소포장 채소류, 생필품 등을 판매하며, 타 편의점 체인과 차별화를 시도하고 있음

 ◦ Lawsons

    - 2016년에 시장 진출하여 2020년까지 500개 매장 확보 계획에 있음

    - 마닐라를 중심으로 그 외 지역으로 점포 확장 중임
